Last week we were delighted to be partnered with The Curve to host their 2025 Investment Club Event! The Curve run an incredible investing education platform where they share practical and engaging financial information on their podcast and through their Investment Club.
After a welcome champagne, Victoria and Sophie from The Curve began the session with their top trends of 2025 – will Google glasses have a comeback? Will the Metaverse fail? The dynamic duo shed light on the direct impact of the zeitgeist on stock prices now more than ever, including a handy tip to keep our eyes on RocketLabs and Space X with recent celebrity interest in space travel making investments in this area likely to be fruitful.
Next, they were joined by iconic New Zealand businesswoman and fashion designer, Karen Walker, and writer and podcaster, Ash London. The panel shared fascinating insights on being women in business, in particular Karen Walker’s insight into ‘respecting’ money as a key feature in her financial strategy which has proved highly successful. This message really hit home with the audience, all women (bar Sophie’s Dad at the back!) and majority sub-40s with a daunting future ahead given the economic turmoil of what should be the most foundational years of their financial lives.
This event, however, did not paint a dark picture and certainly empowered all guests to strategise well, learn and invest to have a truly bright future. Alberts was honoured to host in our brand new venue The Loft at the Formery and we look forward to many more inspiring events here in 2025 and beyond.
